The inaugural Miss Universe Uganda 2026 competition has been launched. Launched on Thursday during a media briefing held at Mestil Hotel & Residences, it marks a historic milestone as Uganda officially joins the prestigious global Miss Universe platform for the very first time.
This launch marks the beginning of Uganda’s journey to one of the world’s most recognized and influential international stages for women empowerment, leadership, culture, fashion, and advocacy.
Under the leadership of National Director, Joram Muzira, Miss Universe Uganda aims to redefine pageantry in Uganda by creating a transformative platform that celebrates beauty with purpose while empowering young Ugandan women to become global ambassadors for culture, leadership, confidence, and social impact.
“This is more than a pageant; it is a historic cultural moment for Uganda,” said Joram Muzira. “Miss Universe Uganda represents a new era of opportunity, visibility, empowerment, and international representation for young Ugandan women and the country’s creative industry.”
The Miss Universe Uganda platform will serve as a major national platform for fashion, media, culture, tourism, and youth empowerment while offering Ugandan women an opportunity to compete on the global Miss Universe stage for the first time in history.
Following the official launch, applications will officially open for young women across Uganda to apply for the historic first edition of Miss Universe Uganda. During this phase, aspiring contestants will submit their entries and begin their journey toward becoming Uganda’s next international representative. The campaign will focus on discovering confident, intelligent, purpose-driven, and inspiring women ready to represent Uganda globally.
