Alien Skin Blasts ‘Fallen’ Music Industry, Questions Promoters Over Missing Events

Speaking during the interview on Sanyuka TV, Alien Skin didn’t hold back, stating that in his view, the industry has “fallen.” When asked whether that influenced his decision to step away from music, he clarified that his exit was personal and intentional.

I told you that by the time I quit music I’ll have achieved everything I needed and will still command respect,” he said, suggesting that he believes he has already accomplished his goals in the industry.

He went on to raise concerns about event promoters, hinting that despite receiving financial support to organize shows and grow the entertainment sector, there has been little to show for it. According to him, recent times have seen a noticeable lack of music events, something he finds questionable after doing his own research.

When it was pointed out that artists may have also benefited from similar support, he responded by linking it to political campaign performances, particularly those associated with the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

He suggested that some artists could have been compensated through such avenues, unlike promoters who, in his view, have not delivered on organizing events.

If a promoter can go to the president and request for support so that they organize events and artists get paid but still don’t host any, why can’t you as an artist go and ask for this money without any performances?” he questioned.

Alien Skin concluded by expressing disappointment, saying the situation is something that personally embarrasses him, highlighting deeper frustrations about accountability and the direction of the industry.
