Mark Da Urban has opened up about the musicians who shaped his journey, giving special recognition to Bebe Cool as one of his biggest inspirations growing up.
Speaking during a recent YouTube podcast, Mark Da Urban revealed that his love for Bebe Cool’s music started early in his school days, often getting him into trouble.
“They used to find me with radios at school listening to his music,” he shared, reminiscing about how deeply he connected with Bebe Cool’s sound at the time.
He added that beyond the music, Bebe Cool stood out because of his efforts to represent Ugandan music on the global stage.
“He was someone trying to represent us globally at the time,” Mark noted, highlighting the influence that had on his own ambitions as an artist.
At the same time, Mark Da Urban also spoke highly of Bobi Wine, applauding his versatility in the industry. According to him, Bobi Wine’s ability to experiment across different genres made him stand out from many of his peers.
“He could sing all genres and served all the markets,” he explained, contrasting that flexibility with other artists who tend to stick to one specific style.
