Popular comedy duo, Madrat & Chiko have opened up after fellow comedian Reign, real name Obedi Lubega, was denied the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag to contest for Rubaga South constituency in the upcoming general elections.
“If Reign had gotten the NUP card, the comedy industry would have missed him so much,” Madrat & Chiko said, highlighting the entertainer’s importance in the comedy scene.
Reign, who is part of the comedy duo Reign & Maulana, has been active in Uganda’s entertainment industry, gaining recognition for his performances across the country.
His inability to secure the NUP nomination has sparked discussions among fans and fellow entertainers about his potential political journey.
The denial comes ahead of the general elections, where Reign had hoped to bring his popularity and influence into politics.
