Singer Ykee Benda has opened up about what made him take the bold step of marrying his partner, Emily Nyawira, after just six months of dating.
On 14th September, the couple held their customary wedding (kwanjula), officially sealing their union in the presence of family and close friends.
Speaking about his decision, Ykee revealed that it was a blend of many qualities that drew him to Emily and convinced him she was the one.
“First, it’s the family she comes from. Her manners and how she treats me, her heart, and of course she looks good—but we won’t talk about her body in respect to her,” he shared.
Benda emphasized that beyond physical attraction, Emily’s character and upbringing stood out for him. These factors, he said, gave him confidence to propose within six months of their relationship.
The couple now looks forward to holding their official wedding soon, as they begin their journey of marriage with hopes for a lasting union.
