Known for his dynamic presence behind the DJ decks, he was initially performing alongside Kenyan gospel star Moji Shortbabaa, pumping up the energy with seamless mixes and signature crowd control. However, the real shock came when SR Victor256 stepped beyond his role as DJ and picked up the microphone for a live performance that left many stunned.

He debuted his brand-new song “Loud” on stage, performing it live with Jamaican artist LeoNell Teape. Accompanied by a full live band, their performance was a high-energy display of vocal talent and rhythmic chemistry, bringing a whole new dimension to the event. For many in the Ugandan crowd, this was the first time they realized that SR Victor256 is not just a skilled DJ, but also a capable and charismatic singer. His delivery was confident and full of energy, surprising the audience with a musical depth they hadn’t seen before and proving that his artistry extends well beyond the turntables.

The surprise performance was one of the standout moments at Alive in the Park, an event organized by VEG to mark its fifth anniversary. Over the years, VEG has grown into a key player in Uganda’s Christian events scene, known for curating faith-based celebrations that blend music, art, and community in powerful ways. The anniversary edition was a grand celebration, drawing a large and diverse crowd that came to experience the power of inspirational music from across the continent. It was an atmosphere of joy, worship, and artistic excellence.

The lineup featured a collection of top gospel and inspirational artists from around Africa. Zambia’s Pompi headlined with a strong, message-driven set that left a lasting impression. Esther Chungu, also from Zambia, made her debut appearance in Uganda, winning over the crowd with her heartfelt performance. From Malawi, Theresa Phondo brought a soulful and deeply emotional vibe to the stage. Uganda’s own talents, including Coopy Bly, KaRungi, Wake, and Afrie, kept the energy alive throughout the event with their vibrant and energetic performances that resonated with the audience.

Among all these highlights, SR Victor256’s performance stood out not just for its surprise element, but for what it represented—a turning point in his artistic journey and a signal to Uganda and beyond that he is a multi-dimensional artist with the potential to rise on the global stage. His ability to switch from DJing to live vocal performance with such fluidity and confidence was a revelation, and the reception he received confirmed that he’s on the right path. His collaboration with LeoNell Teape added an international flavor, reinforcing the idea that Ugandan artists are ready to take their sound to the world.

This year’s Edition of Alive in the Park, was more than just a music event. It was a celebration of vision, growth, and spiritual unity.
