The tension between media personality Sasha Ferguson and her estranged husband, Canary Mugume, has escalated after Sasha released a new emotional and strongly worded statement addressing their ongoing domestic violence accusations.
Just a day after publicly revealing that she endured an abusive marriage where she was “often beaten” by Canary, the NBS journalist responded by claiming he too was a victim of domestic violence at the hands of his wife. But Sasha has now returned with a lengthy and fiery update, accusing Canary of twisting narratives and avoiding accountability.
According to Sasha, Canary is currently unable to see their children because the violence he allegedly inflicted extended not just to her, but also to the kids and her mother.
“You are unable to see your children because violence was extended to them too and to your mother-in-law when you ambushed her at home to forcefully take the children,” she wrote, adding that the hotels where they often celebrated birthdays have footage that could expose the truth.
She accused Canary of damaging “the little family God blessed” them with and urged him to seek professional help instead of “tarnishing” her image by using his influence to shape public narratives.
Sasha further claimed she has always been the one handling responsibilities on the ground since they were 19, yet Canary takes public credit for everything. She recounted a painful moment when, heavily pregnant, she overheard her mother-in-law say “abakazi abakuba abasajja,” suggesting she was being falsely labeled as an abusive partner.
She described moments where she allegedly fought for her life while Canary choked her, only for him to later parade the incident as evidence that she was violent. Despite throwing him a big 30th birthday celebration, Sasha says she was repaid with fights and emotional abuse.
“May God bless you with a good woman I was unable to be,” she stated, before insisting that the only way Canary will regain access to his children is if he “seeks help.”
In a continuation of her message, Sasha criticized Canary’s alleged battle with alcoholism, saying it has blinded him with a false sense of fame while robbing him of family.
“This is not a battle of who is right or wrong… can you at least think about your health and your children?” she pleaded.
She emphasized that despite his betrayal, she stood by him for years, but now she must stand alone — not to destroy him, but to “possibly save the father of my children.”
The situation continues to unfold publicly, with both sides accusing each other of domestic violence, manipulation, and misinformation.
