The producer behind the country’s newest viral banger “Nzalina,” Bassboi, has revealed interesting behind-the-scenes details about how the song was created — including who actually wrote the verses.

“Nzalina,” which has taken over TikTok, radio and streaming platforms, features a star-studded lineup: Spice Diana, Winnie Nwagi, Kapeke, Dax Vibez, and Feffe Bussi. But according to Bassboi, only Kapeke wrote his own verse, while the others had their lyrics penned for them.
Bassboi confirmed that the majority of the verses were crafted by Nikoly Ten, a fast-rising and highly respected songwriter known for his catchy and expressive lyrical style.
Kapeke, however, took a different route and sat down to write and rhyme his own Luganda verse — a decision many fans say paid off.
His verse is currently being hailed by listeners as the best in the entire song, with Winnie Nwagi’s fiery delivery coming in as the second most-praised.
