Dax Vibes Says He Is Broke Due to Delay in Copyright Law

By BigEyeUg Team

Singer Dax Vibes has come out to reveal that he is currently broke because Uganda’s copyright law has not yet been amended.

According to Dax Vibes, the music industry has continued to suffer losses because artists are not fully protected when it comes to benefiting from their creative works.

He believes that if the copyright law was amended, musicians would earn more from their music and live more sustainable lives.

It is now close to a year since government officials said the copyright law was in its final stages of being passed, but up to now nothing has changed,” Dax Vibes said.

The singer urged government to prioritize the matter, noting that many musicians face financial hardships despite their songs being widely consumed by the public.

The amendment of Uganda’s copyright law has been a long-standing demand by artists and stakeholders, who argue that it would help them earn rightful income from royalties, protect their intellectual property, and reduce exploitation in the entertainment sector.

Dax Vibes, brother to renowned singer Bobi Wine, is among several artists who continue to call for urgent government action on the matter.

I disagree with UNMF’s decision to buy a hotel, the funds could have supported artists’ venues or event spaces. – @Dax Vibez ❤️‍🔥 #JikonkoneRewind
