Recent developments have thrust rapper Gravity Omutujju into a heated controversy over the ownership of land in Busabala, where he had begun constructing a community hospital as part of his pledged initiative.
In the spotlight for the past week, Gravity Omutujju stirred attention after he publicly challenged singer-turned-politician Bobi Wine to allocate a portion of his Busabala land for the construction of a hospital, a cause Bobi Wine has long championed towards the government.
In a bold move to underscore his commitment and counter Bobi Wine’s challenge, the CEO of ‘Trouble Entertainment’ unveiled his own plot of land in the same area earlier this week, initiating the said ‘Busabala Medical Centre’ construction.
However, Gravity’s triumph was short-lived as his ownership of the land came under dispute, with Ugandan diaspora-based DJ Erycom questioning its legitimacy.
A leaked WhatsApp audio purportedly from one Kuluthum Sherry to DJ Erycom alleges that Gravity Omutujju is not the rightful owner of the Busabala land where he commenced the construction of the Busabala Medical Centre.
According to DJ Erycom, documents provided indicate that Kuluthum had contacted him to purchase the land, but the agreed-upon sum of money has not been fully paid.
The question of whether Gravity Omutujju is attempting to appropriate DJ Erycom’s land now hangs in the balance, stirring public debate and speculation.
As the controversy unfolds, stakeholders await further developments to shed light on the true ownership of the contested Busabala land.
