Top 9 Universities in Uganda

A Ugandan Research firm has released the first ranking of Universities in Uganda. The research firm, a subsidiary of Gartner says it considered 8 factors to rank the universities and 44 universities informed the study. The 7 factors included:

  1. Academic Reputation: This carried a weight of 25% and looked at faculty quality, academic publications, and research impact.
  2. Graduate Employability: It carried a weight of 20% and assessed alumni success in the job market, employment rates, and career progression.
  3. Student-to-Faculty Ratio: Carried a weight of 15%. According to the firm, smaller ratios often indicate better opportunities for personalized learning.
  4. Research Output: Comprised 15% and based on quantity and quality of research publications, citations, and impact factor. The H&I index of the publications were considered.
  5. Internationalization: Was 10% looking at presence of international students and faculty, collaborations, and global recognition.
  6. Facilities and Resources: These carried 10% based on quality of infrastructure, libraries, laboratories, and technology.
  7. Student Satisfaction: Was 5% basing on surveys or feedback from current students regarding their experience.
  8. Community Engagement: At 5%, this considered involvement in community service, social responsibility, and outreach programs.

Basing on the result, below Universities were ranked the top in Uganda with marks awarded out of 100%
